Welcome to the OHSLA

The Ohio High School Lacrosse Association (OHSLA) was created to provide guidance, a shared vision, and a forum for communications that will challenge, engage, and energize the men's game, its heritage and its future in the State of Ohio.

I trust you will find this site to be informative.  Your comments and suggestions are welcome.

Ohio Concussion Law
Posted by Paul Balcerzak on 4/3/2013

In December of 2012, Ohio’s Governor Kasich signed into law legislation that was passed by Ohio’s 129th General Assembly which incorporated much of what the Ohio High School Athletic Association (OHSAA) regulations previously mandated for concussion prevention, recognition and management.  This law, however, does add several aspects to previous OHSAA regulations and now requires action by the OHSLA.  Therefore, in order to be fully compliant with this law as signed by our Governor, the OHSAA will be making modifications to their policy.

The OHSLA shall utilize the same polices/standards as the OHSAA with some additional modifications to accommodate our status outside of the OHSAA and to address compliance with our non-interscholastic members. The OHSAA modifications are set forth in these updated Concussion Regulations which were approved by the OHSAA Board of Directors on February 14, 2013.  Please read these regulations which are attached and will also be published in the 2013-14 OHSAA Handbook. The regulations become fully effective on April 26, 2013.

OHSLA Rules and Regulations
Posted by Paul Balcerzak on 3/8/2013

The Boys Lacrosse Regulations and the OHSLA Tournament Regulations have been approved by the OHSLA Athletic Directors Council (ADC) and become effective immediately.  A companion document to the Boys Lacrosse Regulations is the Ohio High School Athletic Association (OHSAA) General Sports Regulations.

Both OHSLA and OHSAA documents are utilized in the administration of boys lacrosse and are listed below:

For lacrosse uniform specifications, please use this document from the NFHS:

The Boys Lacrosse Regulations supplement the OHSLA Bylaws and, in the event of a conflict, override these Bylaws.  The calendar in the OHSLA has been replaced by the Boys Lacrosse Regulations.

Other documents used by the OHSLA for the administration of the sport include the following from the OHSAA web site (these links will take you to the OHSAA web site):
